KMG International (Rompetrol) has completed the 25th edition of the “Together We Grow” Traineeship Program. For two months, students and graduates from technical universities went through theoretical and practical modules, marking a stage that will support them in choosing a professional path in the energy industry.

Since the beginning of August, the 30 participants enrolled in the program have successfully applied the knowledge they accumulated during their university years and further developed it. They had direct access to the technological processes at the Petromidia and Vega refineries, worked on real projects, and gained knowledge of operational safety, sustainability, and innovation in the energy sector.

The training was made possible with the support of nearly 30 dedicated mentors from Rompetrol Rafinare, Rominserv, Rompetrol Quality Control, and Rompetrol Energy, companies that once again opened their doors this year to those seeking a career in the field.

In addition to the practical experience gained within the teams, the Trainees also underwent a two-day training session dedicated to developing soft skills in project management, specifically applied to the energy industry, including team roles and collaboration, resource management, and solution-oriented thinking.

This year’s edition continued the Community Challenge tradition—an initiative where the Trainees were challenged to develop and implement, in a short period of time, projects with real impact in the Vadu (Constanţa) and Podenii Noi (Prahova) communities. Through educational workshops for kindergarten children and primary and secondary school students, participants demonstrated creativity, a spirit of teamwork, and a desire to contribute to change with responsibility and empathy.

Following evaluations, over 65% of the Trainees have already received job offers within the KMG International – Rompetrol companies, while the others are expected to join the program in the coming years.

Out of the 30 participants in the program, 12 are from “Ovidius” University Constanţa, 7 from the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploieşti, 6 from the Politehnica University of Bucharest, 3 from “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iaşi, and 2 from the Maritime University of Constanţa.

Through this program, KMG International Group has supported the training of over 1,800 participants, many of whom are currently active and supporting the energy industry in Romania.
