Rompetrol supports the expansion of green spaces in Năvodari

Rompetrol Rafinare, the main employer and economic contributor to the city of Năvodari and the Dobrogea region, continues to support environmental and local development initiatives by creating a new green space near the Năvodari Business Center.

With the involvement of its employees and in partnership with the initiative We Plant Good Deeds in Romania, the company has developed a small dendrological park covering approximately 2300 square meters. The park features over 700 trees and ornamental shrubs, from 35 different species. The area includes grass lawns, an irrigation system, and dedicated infrastructure for long-term maintenance, helping improve air quality and providing a pleasant landscape for the community.

"We want to remain an active partner in the development of Năvodari, not only through the economic contributions and jobs we generate but also through projects that bring a positive impact on quality of life. The green space expansion initiative is part of our sustainability strategy and our long-term commitment to supporting the local community," stated Florian Pop, General Manager of Rompetrol Rafinare.

The project continues Rompetrol’s ongoing environmental actions in Năvodari. In the autumn of 2024, the company supported the planting of over 100 large, mature trees, each over 5 meters tall, across several areas of the city.

Local authorities value this collaboration with the private sector. "For many years, we have been investing in expanding green spaces across Năvodari—whether in parks, neighborhoods, or along the city’s main roads. We are pleased that Rompetrol Rafinare is a reliable partner, actively contributing to transforming our city into a cleaner and more pleasant environment for both residents and visitors," said Florin Chelaru, Mayor of Năvodari.

Rompetrol remains committed to projects that address key community areas such as healthcare, education, culture, and environmental protection, supporting the sustainable development of the region.

In addition to environmental initiatives, Rompetrol has carried out numerous strategic investments in the healthcare sector in Constanţa County. Examples include: Providing medical equipment for the Emergency Unit of the Constanţa County Emergency Clinical Hospital "St. Andrew the Apostle", in partnership with the "Dăruieşte Aripi" Association; supporting the opening of the first regional center for diagnosis and monitoring of autoimmune diseases in southeastern Romania, within the same hospital; equipping the Oncology Outpatient Clinic of the Palazu Pneumoftiziology Hospital with medical devices, furniture, and state-of-the-art IT technology.

In Năvodari, Rompetrol equipped the Multifunctional Health Center with a radiology system, mammography equipment, specialized laboratory analysis devices, and gynecology unit equipment, through an investment of USD 1 million.
