The Rompetrol Traineeship, now in its 25th edition
For two months, students and graduates from technical universities will go through theoretical and practical modules prepared by Rompetrol specialists, with the program designed so that participants can absorb as much information as possible within a limited time.
This year, in order to maximize the chances for trainees to be selected for future employment, and to allow mentors to dedicate more time to each participant, 30 students and graduates were selected — those who demonstrated commitment and potential during this year’s recruitment and selection sessions.
The trainees come from “Ovidius” University of Constanţa (12 participants), Petroleum-Gas University of Ploieşti (7 participants), Politehnica University of Bucharest (6 participants), “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iaşi (3 participants), and the Maritime University of Constanţa (2 participants).
They will go through the program at the Petromidia Năvodari and Vega Ploieşti platforms, as well as at the Group’s headquarters, supported by over 30 mentors. The companies where the program will take place are Rompetrol Rafinare, Rominserv, Rompetrol Energy, and Rompetrol Quality Control.
Over the course of the two-month training, trainees will also participate in sessions aimed at developing soft skills such as teamwork and collaboration, communication, resource management, and the basics of project management — including roles and responsibilities.
Through this program, KMG International has supported the training of over 1,800 participants, many of whom are now actively contributing to Romania’s energy industry.
Rompetrol Rafinare operates Petromidia Năvodari, the largest refinery in Romania, and Vega Ploieşti, the only national producer of bitumen and green solvents, as well as the country’s sole petrochemical division.
Rominserv was established in 2001 through the merger of Rompetrol’s Construction and Supervision Division with the Mechanical-Energy Division of the Petromidia refinery and is the general contractor of KMG International Group.
Rompetrol Energy is the company responsible for implementing the Cogeneration project, one of the main investment directions supported by the Kazakh-Romanian Energy Investment Fund (KREIF), in partnership with the Ministry of Energy.
Rompetrol Quality Control is a laboratory company established in 2004 within the Petromidia refinery, offering a full range of analysis services for petroleum products, environmental factors, workplace emission evaluations, petrochemical product testing, and biofuel analysis.
